Thavika Savangwongsakul steps into her first China group show, ‘Another Kind of Singing’

This exhibition will explore the space between “QU” (singing/cultural expression) and “JIE” (execution/performance) as a point of divergence and connection between Eastern and Western understandings of gender. It aims to uncover a distinctively Eastern metaphorical and metonymic rhetoric within Butler’s framework of performativity, viewed through a modern “hybrid” lens.
