Unus Mundus: Duo Exhibition by Miyabi and Mookmintra Jariyavidyanont, Curated by Wutigorn Kongka
Stars, the sky, seasons, the earth, minerals, trees, rivers, oceans, sandy shores, mountains, animals, stones, shells, humans, spirits, thoughts, beliefs, faith, religions, rituals, communities, cities, societies, and cultures are all united within a “single world,” or “Unus Mundus”
The exhibition Unus Mundus by Miyabi and Mookmintra Jariyavidyanont draws upon this concept as a poetic metaphor, creating subtle resonances that invite viewers to engage in their own interpretations.
Both artists draw upon their personal perspectives, memories, and experiences of encountering symbols and meanings of “belief and faith” embodied in traditions, society, culture, and in some cases, religion. Through the act of embracing and questioning, they create images of both the visible and invisible, revealing new relationships between the self and all things around it. Using painting and sculpture as mediums to bridge the boundaries between reality and imagination, they bring together diverse symbols of belief from different origins, contexts, and meanings, transforming them into “a world of unity”.

นิทรรศการ Unus Mundus ของ มิยาบิ และ มุกมินต์ตรา จริยวิทยานนท์ คือการนำความหมายของคำนี้ มาใช้ในเชิงอุปมาอุปไมยคล้ายบทกวี เพื่อสร้างปฏิกิริยาให้เกิดแรงกระเพื่อมบางอย่างไปสู่ผู้ชมได้ตีความอย่างอิสระ
ศิลปินทั้งคู่ใช้ทัศนคติส่วนตัว ความทรงจำตลอดจนประสบการณ์ที่เคยพบเห็นสัญลักษณ์รวมถึงความหมายของ “ความเชื่อและความศรัทธา” ที่ปรากฏอยู่ในขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณี สังคม วัฒนธรรม และบางส่วนอาจเชื่อมโยงกับศาสนา เดินทางเข้าไปสู่การสมาทานและตั้งคำถามอย่างสงสัยใคร่รู้ รวมถึงสร้างมโนภาพให้กับสิ่งที่มองเห็นและมองไม่เห็น เผยให้เห็นความสัมพันธ์แบบใหม่ ระหว่างตัวตนกับสรรพสิ่งรอบตัว โดยใช้ผลงานจิตรกรรมและประติมากรรม เป็นพาหนะเชื่อมโยงเส้นแบ่งพรมแดนของความเป็นจริงและจินตนาการ เพื่อหลอมรวมความหลากหลายต่างที่มา ต่างบริบท ต่างความหมายจากสัญลักษณ์ทางความเชื่อเหล่านั้น ให้กลายเป็น "โลกแห่งเอกภาพ" เพียงหนึ่งเดียว
