In recent years, art and design have leaned steadily toward clarity: authenticity, directness, and stripped-back forms have become the dominant cultural language. This pursuit of the honest and the uncomplicated has its place, yet it also reveals a growing absence — the space where fiction, speculation, and the surreal once thrived.
REM emerges in response to that gap. It proposes a return to the imaginative excess that only dreaming permits: the unstable architectures, the fluid emotions, the impossible scenes that evade rational systems. By situating the fair within this dream state, REM invites artists and audiences to momentarily suspend the insistence on simplicity and step into a mode of perception where meaning shifts, narratives open, and new worlds can be formed without constraint.
