Sudaporn Teja Featured in Bangkok Art Biennale 2026

At Art Centre, Silpakorn University

Sudaporn Teja participates in the Bangkok Art Biennale 2026 (BAB2026) under the theme “Angels and Mara,” which explores the contrasts between goodness and darkness and the complexities of human nature.

For BAB 2026, Teja presents an installation that bridges the historical Lanna Kingdom with its contemporary descendants, reflecting on cultural identity, political displacement, and the fading of ancestral memories across generations. Centred around a trilogy of video works — LANNA ANNAL (2022), LANNA ANNAL ANNEX (2023), and Susurrus (2026) — the installation explores traditional Northern Thai rituals of hair cutting, growing, and braiding, accompanied by folk songs, healing chants, and lullabies. These videos are complemented by sculptural works and objects, including Sundial (2022), Moondial (2023), Stardial (2026), and Sonorous (2026), which draw on Lanna cultural traditions and family heirlooms to evoke spiritual endurance, inherited memory, and the enduring connections between past and present.

The exhibition takes place from 29 October 2026 - 28 February 2027 at the Art Centre, Silpakorn University. We warmly invite you to visit and experience Sudaporn Teja’s installation as part of Bangkok Art Biennale 2026.
