Date: 23 May - 4 July 2026Born in Southeast Asia and shaped by the geopolitical conditions of the Cold War, Mit Jai Inn has developed an artistic language that emerges from the intersections of region, history, and ideology. Through vibrant colours, layered surfaces, and unconventional modes of display, his paintings extend beyond the picture plane to engage space, movement, and the viewer’s body.
In CYCLES, Mit expands this long-standing exploration toward an inquiry into time. Inspired by the rhythm of lunar phases, the exhibition considers how meaning emerges through repetition, difference, and participation. Rather than treating time as an abstract or passive condition, the works invite viewers to engage through movement, touch, and perception, transforming time into a lived experience.
The series consists of twelve pages and twenty-four sides, echoing systems used to measure temporal and astronomical cycles. Bound together with metal rings, the canvases occupy a space between painting and sculpture, requiring viewers to hold, turn, and navigate them. Through these gestures, CYCLES proposes that time is not something that passes, but something continually produced through action, perception, and the shifting relationships between bodies, objects, and space.
