Overview
An interactive multimedia installation
by Kittitorn Kasemkitwatana
Kittitorn Kasemkitwatana chooses "water" as metaphoric agent for the uncertainty of mental state, as water is constantly in the evolving condition. Similarly, interactive technology in which binary-digit, a two-state device that consistently attributes value either 0 or 1, also communicates impermanence. Juxtaposing mental state with mathematical logic, this work combines material and immaterial agents as a variable of the uncertainty. Under the framework of space and time, this work conveys understanding of the longevity of being.
This exhibition is derived from part of Kasemkitwatana's thesis research project, Impermanence', submitted to the Department of Contemporary Design and Technology, L'ENSCI-les ateliers, Paris. The research studies the relationship between Buddhist philosophy and mathematical logic though design methods. Whether it is the experiment of shapes of water or forms created by using processing program and input of logic commands that make the visual images and forms move.
